Auckland Domain is the city's oldest park and one of Auckland's largest with 75 hectares. Within easy walk of the upper end of Queen Street, in the suburb of Grafton, the park is the site of Auckland Memorial Museum, one of the city's most popular tourist attractions.
Auckland Domain is set on the volcanic remains of the Pukekawa volcano. A number of large sports playing fields occupy the floor of the crater, while the rim of the crater opposite the fields is the location of a cricket pavilion and Auckland City Hospital.
Opening Hours:
10 AM - 5 PM weekdays, 9 AM - 5 PM weekends, and public holidays. Closed Christmas Day. Open until 8.30 PM every Tuesday evening for Twilight Tuesdays
